Eliminate the pile of remotes on the coffee table, and control your home theater with iRule! The 2014 CES award-winner, iRule is a universal remote control app for audio/video enthusiasts thats easy to set up and fun to customize. Its also the remote that keeps growing with your changing technology and needs.

iRule doesnt just control audio and video gear, either. It also controls lighting, shades and blinds, network cameras, security systems, and more. Also available are simply drag-and-drop modules for rich interactive control of Sonos systems, Onkyo-Integra and Denon receivers, Insteon, Lutron, and Z-Wave lighting, dimmers, locks, and more.

Configure and customize your remote with iRule Builder on your computer. Drag-and-drop your images and commands, upload your own custom graphics, and share content with other users. Builder includes a huge database of the most common gear.

* Please note that most users systems will require a hardware gateway to control devices that do not support direct network control. iRule is compatible with Global Caché products, available from our website

Pros and cons of iRule app for iPhone and iPad

iRule app good for

Seamless integration with my Global Cache GC100. Good cloud application and a very good database with all IR commands for my devices and good graphical interface. No sliding control yet. E-mail support is good also with fast response to all of our question. Recommended application (I have a Pro version).
This app is not an out of the box, point & control solution. It is a rather sophisticated program which requires further equipment (gateways) to interface with on a wireless network. Further, the user requires an account to then set up the controlling functions for audio, video, lighting, security, cameras, etc. The setup interface on a browser allows complete flexibility to control anything through IR, RS232, or relays ( and with further interfaces, RF) The user interface and selection of available graphics components are expanding as more users share and the developer expands offerings. I would suggest that anyone interested in the app have a good amount of time to familiarize themselves with the builder application (online...with browser interface-mac, windows, any) those with no time or with immediate needs might be disappointed (hence some low ratings?). However, those with detailed home control requirement should be delighted with the the options, expandability, and total flexibility of the app. I use this to control 3 samsung big screens, marantz av amp, 2 Macintosh minis, 28 speakers, 3 IP camera interfaces, with plans for other components. Having just acquired an ipad, I am excited about the possibilities. As yet, no RS232 control feedback is incorporated, but will be added to future releases. The developer is delightfully attentive to all enquiries and is a regular contributor on avsforum.com ... Search for iRule. The app requires medium levels of geekness, but will accommodate most all of your home control requirements. I was near giddy when I first got it operating. I would give it 5 stars if it didnt have a learning curve and a requirement to spend some time setting things up. A/V pros will be pleased with the app. Good luck! Go ahead ... Pull the trigger.
Just wanted to let everyone know that this app does everything that I was hoping and more. With it I have ir control of my equipment (with an itach), serial control of my projector (with an itach), and ip control of my lighting controller (no extra hardware required). The customer service is amazing (as there is a bit of a learning curve), and the support through the thread on Avs forum is a cut above. I now have a completely custom remote control that can control everything that I have needing controlling. The one thing that should be known is that it will take a little bit of setting up to get going but with the default profiles as a starting point it can go a lot quicker. Also, if youre not sure if this is for you they have a free trial of the builder so you can try it out. Overall I am very pleased with this app!!
Have been using it for a year and it has replaced all of my remotes. There is a large community of help on the AVS Forum.
So I dont know how these people are giving this system a bad rating because it is the most amazing system money can buy. Im an AV/automation installer and we install high end Crestron systems usually. But at my own place I wanted to give iRule a shot... And itsurprised the hell out of me! YES its gonna cost you at least around $150 to set it up... YES It does require programming... And NO its not just an app that you download and will work for you "out of the box"... There is great hardware behind it and IT JUST WORKS! I have installed universal remote systems that cost over a 1000 dollars and iRule does the same thing! Even more than some! Its an amazing system that if set up properly will rock your House! Be patient when setting up! Enjoy!
Thanks to this app, I can finally ditch Logitech harmony remotes, just like Logitech did For 200 bucks (pro license and the ip2ir transmitter) I can control my entire home system, from 4 different IOS devices (at once if I so chose to), my 6 year old loves it, more importantly so does the wife (she had issues with the weak ir transmitter of our previous remotes). Can controller my whole system no matter I am in the house, love it. Great app, once you get the setup process over with. Great for installers to since all programming/changes are web based. App is constantly being updated as well. Wish I would of found this earlier, could of saved a ton of cash on my home entertainment furniture, and put all my components (other than display) In a separate location(ie basement) and just a hdmi to my tv

Some bad moments

Since last iOS Update, the App crashes straight away.. Help required!!!
This is a thirty day trial. Also, there is too much signup involved. Im not impressed
This is a great, fully-customizable universal remote option. This update adds (among other things) full support for iPad retina displays. Those who rated this poorly dont understand what it is. You do have to pay for access to the Builder site, and you may have to invest in a wifi to ir conversion device, but it will run you the same amount of money as a decent standard universal remote while giving you options that were previously only available on the very high end of the market. If you want something free and easy, look elsewhere. If you want a very powerful and customizable remote option, this is well worth the money. The support provided by iRule is top notch as well.
Many iRule implementations under my belt and all great experiences. However, HAI omnipro integration is a must for single interface rather than Haiku and iRule. Great support during business hours. Would give 5+ stars with HAI integration. Keep up the enhancements and I will be a loyal iRule follower.
I think of myself as an advanced user and found this interface far too complex than it needed to be. iRule if you want to be a contender go buy a Logitech Harmony 890 and program it. Very easy to do and done in 10 minutes or less. You must be the devotee of the program to understand it. First step add a device... How? No instructions or a button that says "Add Device". Poor GUI development. Learn this iRule "keep the complexity on the inside and make it simple for the user." Very poor execution.
Love the App and been using it for years.. BUT PLEASE FIX YOUR ICON SO THERES NO GLARE IMAGE. That effect makes it look like crap on my RETINA IPHONE

Usually iRule iOS app used & searched for

remote device, ir remote, ir universal remote control, ir universal remote, and other. So, download free iRule .ipa to run this nice iOS application on iPhone and iPad.
