Very difficult setup and doesnt work. Waste of time

Solid app. Requires additional hardware but they tell u that up front. Tutorials on website walk u through building your custom interface step by step. I setup 5 devices and were good to go. Wife loves it and continually comes up with new ideas to customize the look and automate our entertainment system. Do the research, buy the hardware and a license through their website, do the tutorials... I could see how people would be disappointed if they are expecting to download the app and instantly start controlling their devices. A little research on their website shows u which devices you can control directly over your wifi network and which ones require IR controlling equipment to control it over your wifi network (your normal tv remote is IR). Company offers lots of support through their website. Some professional users do amazing stuff with this remote app (control lights, thermostats, security systems, etc.). My only complaint is I wish they were more open with sharing upcoming features or some of the modules werent so expensive (For an amateur tinkerer, $200 is expensive for the professional version and iTunes module on 2 devices). Also, to do custom buttons, the template is in Adobe photoshop format, which not many home users would have access to. Plus perfecting your interface is addicting and I have spent more time on it than I care to admit to.

Listen people! This app is a professional remote control. Period! If youre knowledgable about creating macros, know what IR codes are, and know that you will have to spend time creating a custom remote design. This takes time and effort to learn. Im so tired of ignorant people leaving bad reviews on great apps, because they think that the app should program itself! I am a pro certified CEDIA installer and am not affiliated with iRule in anyway. It just ticks me off when people leave bad reviews when its obviously they didnt take the time to learn the app. Seriously people this is not a silly mustache app! There is a reason that pro a/v installers charge $100/hr to program remotes properly... This app turns your devices into a very powerful remote that could easily cost you $2000 for a dedicated touchscreen remote with custom programming. Learn it, use it, and love it. Great job iRule guys!

Takes awhile to setup and doesnt even work. This app should pay the user not the other way around. They hack your email also. The police or FBI should look into this app. Ive contacted apple also.

If your a diyer and are into home audio this is the app for you.

They took my money then ignored me. What a rip. $50 down the drain.

No feedback and on/off switch and dimmer switch too doesnt work, I hope fix the problem soon. Thanks

I love the new updates!

Ive been using iRule for a couple of years now, and it has been great. I love the custom screens and macros, and the web-based Builder software is continually getting more features. Since iOS 7, however, things have been less than stellar. Almost everything works as expected, except my lighting control. I use a Vera to control a dozen or so ZWave switches, and they have all disappeared! Ive contacted support, and they are usually very helpful and responsive. In October/November, after all my lighting controls vanished, they told me it would be fixed in an upcoming update. 2 months later, nothing. Once this issue is resolved, I will happily update the review to the 5 stars that the app deserves.

Does work as mentioned.

I have been using this app since it was released, and they have incrementally made it better and better. Having said that it does take a good amount of time and patience to get setup, but once you do it is solid. My wife and 6 year old have no problems using the screens that I have created. My son can even explain it to his grandparents. I have a multiroom av matrix that was incredibly complicated to setup, but like I said you can use this system to make it easy for the rest of your household to use.

Needs more control over the implementation of drawers, and conditional statements.... Also, panels become broken when used with multiple panels as drawers while one is bigger than another, and touched. Wheres the ios update?!

I tried the iRule demo. Best deal going there because I could use it and find out I couldnt control my system before wasting the money. Why I would buy: 1: Easy to program with laptop over web 2: Simple interface 3: Clean look, easy to use. 4: works with most consumer grade IR based products. 5: 30 day trial period- I could try and fix the things below in 30 days. Too lazy though... Why I didnt buy: 1: IR only codes for ReQuest Server- should be IP 2: No separate codes for ReQuest Media Player - this is needed or I need another remote. 3: Insteon ISY not clean and easy to manage scenes.

This is one of the best home automation apps out there for the professional and home enthusiast. Stable, easy to use interface, flexible yet powerful with great technical support! Definitely would recommend to friends and family. It is great to that when family comes to visit you simply download the app and then they can control all the house from their own phone. It’s easy/intuitive!

Would be good to know that this new app replaced irule HD and that the old app is no longer being updated. I was lucky to have checked the store and stumbled on the new app.

The latest version of this app locks up all the time and crashes on my iPhone 5 and my iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 8 on both devices.

Agree that the update has cause very annoying issues with this app now for my iPhone 5. Locks up consistently. Recently re synced the handset and that seems to have helped a good deal.
