iRule App Reviews

The configurability of this software is great, but customers are savvy now and expect updates quickly after a hardware upgrade. 5 months without iPhone 6 (Plus) support is frustrating. I have had to migrate most users over to other products due to this. It’s unfortunate that a once promising product has stagnated with a very slow development cycle.

It WAS a decent app for those that were willing to invest a lot of money in the App Store and time with the steep learning curve of the iRule Builder software. However, it seems that the latest update (02-27-15) ruined it. Now it makes you log in to your Google+ account in order to update the handsets. (It gives a "legacy" log in option, but that seems to be broken.) What this mean is that everyone in my family must log in to my Google+ account in order to update... not cool. Also, there is now an option to generate an iPhone 6 handset, but no way to select it in the phone. (Extremely disappointing after spending hours making the new handset and not being able to even use it.) PLEASE FIX THE APP YOU JUST BROKE.

I am having issues with the new iPhone 6 Plus handset. The usable area of the screen is much smaller than the resolution of the iPhone 6 Plus. I can’t move buttons and labels to the lower portion of the screen or to the far right. It seems the scaling is all wrong. I love iRule but it’s been disappointing to see how long it has taken to get iPhone 6 handset support and then to see this sort of issue with this release.

In general iRule is a fantastic product. However the last few releases seem to have introduced bugs and performance issues. This one has caused issues with authentication and iPhone 6 layout. The staff has responded to support questions quickly. It is my hope they can release an update quickly.

DONT UPDATE IPAD1!!! I just updated the app to the current version. The update broke the app completely. It wont even load the app it just crashes after the insignia screen. Nice to pay this kinda money for software that is not fully beta tested before rolling out to PAYING USERS. I have a Regional Class Home theater broke down due to software validation failure on Irules behalf. Oh yeah and please fix the current version or roll back to a version that actually works, idiots. Thanks!

Same problem as the first reviewer. Completely unusable. Wont even load past splash screen. I should have read the reviews first instead of blindly updating.

New version cant come out fast enough. This version keeps crashing and we keep getting promised updates that arent delivered. Meanwhile my entertainment system cant work. Had to pull out the old remotes and go buy batteries.

It defaults to the right panel and then you cant navigate to the other panels. This needs to be fixed asap. Started happening with latest ios

Recent releases made this useless on iPhone 6 Plus. Will only go to one screen with no navigation or ability to get to settings. Really frustrating as Ive setup that this is only way to control my TV setup. Will have to look for alternatives.

this was an excellent app but recent updates broke all of my panels. no icons display at all

The panels button disappears so I have to reset my IPhone.

The latest update is very buggy with resolution issues in iPhone 6 and the panels title missing back links. Pls upload a fix asap.

Ive been using this for a few years now and it is awesome! Used to have a harmony remote but it was a pain having to sync with USB cable etc. All you need is to purchase an iTach gateway to control your IR devices and you can customize your own remote. Syncing is done via WiFi so you can sync in seconds! I love it!

New iPhone 6+ rendered many hours of remote design useless. Cant charge this much for modules and not keep up. Fix it now.

Weeks of problems with the latest update. Now even app/phone restarts dont help. Rendered completely useless on my iPhone 5S.

Application broken with iOS upgrade. 5 weeks now with no fix making the app useless and having to use old remotes. For a paid application that wasnt cheap that is unacceptable and cant recommend anybody to leverage with that kind of support . Unfortunate as this is good app but if you cant rely on it then is worthless.

I love this app and only have one complaint. The app needs IP control for Dish Hopper and Joey. The dish products can only be controlled via IR. Other than that, if you read the manual and take some time to set the app up, it is great app that is very customizable. I will give the app 5 stars when my complaint is resolved.

Back to the same problem a few versions ago. Does not work on an older iPad with iOS version 5.1.1
